Residential Garage Door is great! My overhead garage door was sticking on opening and wouldn't open all the way. When I called Residential, Ted called me back in less than a half hour. He offered to come out the same day, but I was unavailable, so he came out first thing the next morning. The problem was pretty straightforward, and because he had installed the garage door a few years ago, he didn't even charge me for this trip. Totally above and beyond expectations. I will definitely call his company with any future garage door issues and highly recommend them!

Nothing but the best to share about our experience with Ted and Residential Garage Door Services! Our old system was in rough shape, so we opted to replace everything - new door, opener/motor, safety eyes, and keypad. Ted was prompt, transparent, communicative, and very knowledgeable. I was so impressed with Ted and the job that was done replacing the springs and cables on my garage door. He quoted me a price over the phone that was very reasonable and when he got here he lowered the price after he looked at the type of springs that I had. He checked everything else out to make sure it was in working order. Most outstanding service I've had in many years. He actually recommended methods that would not require a service call. He was in the middle of a job, and gave me an approximate time later that day. He was early, and quickly finished the job. Best part was it cost me less than half the price I was quoted from Precision Door Services. I guess advertising is expensive. HIGHLY recommended

What a great company, and an even nicer guy. He does free estimates and we ended up having a very minor issue with one of our sensors that was quickly resolved. We agreed on a fee for his time and travel, which I was very pleased with. I will absolutley use him again, and will recommend to friends and family.

Ted was responsive, professional, and did great work. On top of that, he was so remarkably easygoing and cooperative on what was a less-than-straightforward garage door replacement. We were having some structural work done on our garage in combination with replacing the door, which involved Ted making several more trips to our house and phone calls with our contractor to get the work done, and he happily communicated with the construction team directly to make life easier for us and ensure the time we were without a garage door was minimal. I would absolutely recommend Ted and Residential Garage Door Services for any garage door work!

Ted came over right on time. As soon as I opened the garage, he knew what was wrong with it and within a minute explained to me what I needed to do if I wanted to do it myself. The garage door itself was stopping halfway when I opened it. He gave me the option to do it myself or he could do it. I opted to do it myself so he explained bit by bit what I needed and what steps to take, including measurements. The overall experience was great and he didn't even ask for anything even though I offered to compensate him for his drive to my place. We appreciate your time and energy, thank you!

Pick up your phone (or go to your phone app) and call Ted now! We decided to go with Residential Garage Door Services after calling several other garage door businesses. All of the other businesses wanted a service fee just to come out and give an estimate or were very evasive with their answers. When I called Ted he was very forthright and gave me answers that were actually helpful! Ted was thorough and efficient, he was done within a half hour of being here. He was not pushy at all about any “additional” sales like many other companies are and he was very pleasant to talk to! It was great to learn that he is local to me, here in North Minneapolis, and that I was supporting a small business. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would. I would recommend him to all of my friends and family and even to you strangers on the internet.
PLEASE READ: I wish I had more stars I could give Ted for the amazing service he provided, in my time of need of a new garage door. Ted was the only one to give me a ball park estimate over the phone and also scheduled a same day appointment. I had someone from a different company arrive an hour before Ted and there was a complete difference in customer service. Ted helped me diagnose the cause of my problem and gave solutions to help remedy the situation. He didn't sell me on anything additional and got me a quote within the hour. The quote was detailed and helped me understand my total cost by line item. Ted, thankfully, was able to complete the installation of my new garage door the very next day! Ted provided top tier service and my new garage door works like a charm. I would recommend Ted and Residential Garage a thousand times over. Awesome company. I would recommend them to anyone and would surely use them for my mom. Does the recommendation get any better than that? Professional, timely, and goes above and beyond. I called for my door being off track. Not only did they respond after hours, they came out fixed the problem door, but also checked my second door to prevent the problem happening there. My door slides up and down like suntan oil on a metal slide in a Vegas summer. Like butter baby. Like butter.
Had a spring break on the garage door and it would not open. Texted Ted and he called within 10-15 minutes. An hour later he arrived and was replacing the springs with new ones. Also found rusted & frayed cables and since I already was paying for the labor for the springs, I was able to do the cables at the same time. He lubricated and got the door working as good as it was 18 years ago when I first installed it. Also fine tuned the opener for the proper open and closing limits. Very professional and would recommend his service to anyone.

I have used Ted 3x now over the last few years for several of my duplex properties; 3 motor units and a full 8ft door replacement. It's refreshing to have a contractor that a) answers the phone and is great at communicating (cell, text, scheduling, etc.), b) does good work and follows my unique requests and c) provides timely invoicing and paperwork. As I was leaving for work I found my garage door would no longer close. Leaving it open for the day was not an option so I needed it fixed asap. After making several calls and being told no one could come out for a day or more I tried Residential Garage Door Services and thankfully was able to book an appointment with Ted for a free estimate a little later that day. Ted arrived on time, was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He quickly figured out what was wrong, explained the problem, the repair and the price up front. He was able to repair it on the spot at a very responsible price and the whole thing took about an hour. My experience with Ted and Residential Garage Door Services was nothing short of exceptional.

Called midday Sat. Scheduled for that afternoon between 3 and 4. He called and said he finished at the current job early and could be here in 20 minutes. He arrived, assessed the issue. Just needed to lube the parts and tighten the springs . Great guy to deal with and he will be the first one I call if I ever need this problem fixed again.
Ted was great to work with. He offered a fair price and solid lead time from agreement to install. He ended up finishing the job ahead of schedule on the day of install, was in and out in under 4 hours. I had received a quote from a handful of companies, he offered the best price, a warranty double the length of most other companies I reached out to and was able to match a few other services offered by competitors. Would repeat business if I needed a garage door at a new residence and recommend to friends.
The guy showed up on time, was easy to work with and did a great job. We got a new top of the line opener and it was less expensive then a few other quotes we had.
Called late in the afternoon to see if I could get someone out to check on the garage this week. Not only was the service available same day, they were able to come out and solve the problem at a reasonable price! I have not encountered same day service with this level of professionalism and attention to detail. I can't imagine going with any other service. My only regret is that I don't have someone of this caliber to help with the other high level maintenance home repairs I have. Would definitely recommend.
I contacted Residential Garage Door Services after speaking with two other companies about a broken torsion spring. As they say, the third try was a charm. Ted came out the same day, and his estimate was much cheaper than the other two guys. Ted was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. Unlike the others, he took the time to explain the various repair options to me and did not try to upsell or pressure me into anything extra. Once I decided on the repair option that worked best for me, he was able to start on it right away and had it fixed and working better than it ever had in less than an hour. I had a wonderful experience from start to finish and will only be calling Residential Garage Door Services from now on.
